From my brief investigation, it appears steam doesn't currently offer support for the G27 in streaming.

the main issue is it's just a short distance away, around 30 metres

you might want to wait for the steam link that includes several USB ports, allowing you to plug in your steering wheel. unfortunately, it won't be available until November.
