hello all of toms forums, i'm getting really frustrated with this starter PC i built for a student at a friend of mine's school. they say the system performed great during my test runs and everything, but now he keeps saying the system goes to sleep or shuts down instead of actually closing. he needs to recheck his Steam games. i checked what he was talking about and it matches exactly what i'm experiencing.

if the system ever goes to sleep, especially when playing games like csgo or h1z1, he has to re-verify the game files. otherwise, steam says his account can't be verified. i've tried uninstalling all of steam and reinstalling everything, but it keeps happening.

specs:
i5 4670k
sabertooth mobo
16gb ddr3 ram
450gb ssd
1tb hdd x3
550w psu
1070 super

Steam was removed and then reinstalled from the beginning. No data was lost, I believe it wasn’t an SSD problem since Windows would still behave normally. Other issues like GPU drivers glitching or web browsing problems didn’t occur. The only hiccup was with Steam in sleep mode, and shutting down didn’t cause any problems.

This relates to the steam app and its games, ensuring files remain intact even if online settings are altered.
