I think the stream you're seeing is still decent. I'm using my NVENC encoder, but there are some losses in image quality. Of course, I'm not a big streamer—just an average person with 120 followers. If I could set up another machine to handle the encoding and get better results without spending any money, why not?

It should work well with the 9700k for x264. Alternatively, using a GPU with an NVIDIA Turing (1650 or higher) would provide minimal performance impact and offer similar results to x264.

It's a great CPU. Remember you'll need a capture card and to configure your audio setup.

Sure, NVENC works well and gives smooth results. You notice some lower image quality compared to x264, but it’s still great for streaming on a single PC. If you want even better quality without extra costs, it’s worth exploring. Just make sure your GPU can handle the encoding at 9700k.

Yes, it works well with x264. However, as gloop mentioned, you'll still require a capture card.

Thanks for the feedback! I was expecting some updates or improvements for the Ampere encoder, but it seems they haven't been released yet.

I would try it. Much improved over the CPU I normally use for streaming. For now, I’ll keep relying on the GPU.
