stream games want a checked PC before it goes to sleep.
hi everyone at toms forums, i'm getting really stressed because of this starter pc i built for a friend of mine. his school teaches there and the system was working great during my test trials and everything, but now he says that every time he shuts down or puts it to sleep, the computer isn't actually shutting off; it's just going into standby mode instead. He has to restart the thing every single time so he can play steam games like csgo or h1z1. I checked what he was talking about and it's all because of that one little detail. If the system is put to sleep at all, then in order for him to play those games like csgo or h1z1 anything like that, he has to re-verify his steam game files. Otherwise it tells him that steam cannot verify his account and i have tried uninstalling all of steam and reinstalling everything over and over again and it happens every time. specs are I5 4670k sabertooth mobo 16gb ddr3 ram 450gb ssd 1tb hdd x3 550w psu 1070 super
This problem could happen because your browser settings are too strict, like keeping cookies off or having security high up. You also need to stop using Private Browsing or Incognito mode, as those can block things from working properly.
oh man, do those anti-cheat games break when I'm sleeping? hey have you tried to re-install Steam?
Yes, I removed Steam completely from my PC and put it all back together from the beginning. I don't think we lost any important files since everything is working fine now. It's not an SSD issue because if it were, Windows would be acting weird while games are playing too. The graphics card drivers are glitching sometimes but mostly okay. Even looking at a Blu-ray disc works well and web browsing isn't broken. There are no problems other than Steam when the computer is in sleep mode or turned off.
Does this matter for my steam account or its apps? If the game is on my PC, it should still keep all the files even if my internet settings change.
