Strange sound distortions after increasing speed
Strange sound distortions after increasing speed
I built my own desktop using an i7-7700k that was overclocked by 11%, paired with a GTX 1080 that ran at +245/+445 at 120% core voltage with MSI afterburner. I haven’t noticed any visual issues, but occasionally the audio distorts or glitches when watching videos or playing games. My temperatures stay well within limits and the CPU performance is better than before the GPU overclocking. Is this a concern related to the overclock itself?
You possess two variables (items modified). Consider reverting one to stock and then invert it (OC-GPU with stock, then OC-CPU with stock, followed by OC-CPU with GPU stock).
Check if your audio is routed through MB drivers or Nvidia drivers.
If connected to the audio out port on the MB, remove the Nvidia audio drivers and the GeForce Experience app.
You have two variables (things you modified). Consider reverting one to stock and then swapping it. Try OC-GPU with stock and OC-CPU with GPU stock. Is your audio using the MB drivers or Nvidia ones? If connected to the audio out port on the MB, remove the Nvidia audio drivers and the GeForce Experience app. I'll attempt that now!
