Good evening! Your PC has been experiencing slow performance in certain areas lately. Music streams, especially on Tidal, play a bit slower than usual, and videos from YouTube sometimes stutter or freeze. VLC occasionally cuts the audio mid-song. In games, background music slows down when you open menus, even though the frame rate stays steady. I understand it’s frustrating, but I’m considering switching to VR now. After one song in Beatsaber, the speed changes constantly and it’s really annoying. My system specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, Nvidia RTX 2070, 32GB RAM at 3200 MHz, ASRock X470 motherboard, Windows 11 Education 64-bit. Anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Could the issue stem from thermal throttling? Check CPU and GPU temperatures, particularly under heavy load when slowdowns occur.

Thanks! The readings look normal—GPU hit 75°C and CPU 70°C, which seems typical. I didn’t expect such a drop despite those temps.

I anticipate greater issues during gameplay if the GPU were to fail.

During video playback VLC uses about 1% of the GPU and CPU resources, hovering near 3-5%. When launching a game the video continues smoothly but audio stops intermittently every few seconds. YouTube reports video decoding at 14% and CPU usage between 5-10%. While gaming, decoding drops to around 10%. Streaming music via Tidal shows minimal impact on GPU (about 5%), CPU stays around 40%, but the music plays slower with all cores engaged.

It's quite unusual, isn't it?

It's quite unusual... but you're right about the operating system too. I'd suggest a complete reinstall of Windows 10 (home or professional) from Microsoft. You can download it directly and install it without a license. Even if it doesn't solve everything, you might still be able to purchase a license later. Just because Windows 11 has many problems doesn't mean this isn't the strangest part of the situation... so go ahead and install Windows 10 fresh. Use only one hard drive, ideally the primary one.
