It appears there’s a peculiar hardware problem with either my RAM or the motherboard. Here are the details:

My setup includes:
- ASUS Z790 Hero Motherboard
- Intel Core i9 13th gen CPU, cooled by an NZXT Kraken z73 cooler
- 64GB DDR5 RAM from Corsair Dominator
- NVIDIA RTX4090 graphics card

Overall a solid build, but there’s one recurring issue: on rare occasions, the LED lights on the RAM become stuck and stop working. When this happens, my lighting software fails to recognize the RAM, and the system behaves normally until I restart. After rebooting, the motherboard emits an orange light and displays error code 53, indicating a RAM-related fault. This usually disappears after a reboot, but it can reappear after a while.

Occasionally, when XMP is enabled, the error code shifts to 55, suggesting a different kind of RAM issue. I’ve also observed that letting the PC sleep—without turning it off—can trigger this problem, as the RAM LEDs freeze and RGB software no longer detects the memory.

Despite running MemTest on the RAM, which passed without issues, and testing various LED control tools, the problem persists. It seems to be either a RAM fault or a motherboard malfunction. It’s not causing permanent damage, but it’s happening unpredictably and intermittently.

Anyone else have experienced this with a similar configuration? Do you think it’s related to the RAM or the motherboard?

What is the current BIOS version for your motherboard? Do you have a link to the RAM you're using? Is Asus Armory Crate controlling your LED or iCUE?

Bios version 0401
Link to the ram? uuuh....

ASUS Armory Crate is set up but I instructed it to cease managing the LEDs as far as possible. I previously had Corsair iCUE, but I removed it and swapped it for signalRGB, which I prefer much more.
