strange OC issue.
strange OC issue.
i have been running smoothly on a 7900x oc at 4.5ghz with 1.230v using corsair 3000mhz cl15 and 32gb ram on an asus rog rampage vi apex with an 1600w psu. today i upgraded to viper steel 4133mhz cl19 and 32gb ram, but the system kept having errors and wouldn't boot until i adjusted the cpu voltage to 1.25. i'm puzzled because earlier, even with faster ram and a different bios, it would freeze or throw q codes. now at 1.25v everything works fine and all tests passed. any suggestions would be appreciated.
For Skylake-X, VCCSA and VCCIO offer assistance with memory OCs, though they require careful handling:
-they may crash if voltage is too low
-they risk damaging the IMC if voltage is too high
It's usually safest to leave it to auto. I haven't adjusted it yet, but I'm only running at 3600mhz.
What was the goal of this 'upgrade'?
