Computer restarted after hours only to find it frozen. All functions stopped responding except window movement. Shut it down and turned it back on. Restarted but still got a black screen with white text saying “Reboot and select proper boot device …”. Even after several attempts, the PC won’t boot properly. I tried using a spare Windows USB drive, which worked temporarily. The startup repair couldn’t fix the issue. System specs: MSI Creator x299 i9-10940x 1x 2TB Samsung 970 Pro M.2.

It seems your system might have a corrupted drive. You could start a Linux live environment to safely back up the drive, then reinstall Windows afterward.

I’d likely turn off sleep mode too. It caused several unexpected rejections when trying to wake up during my build. They also mentioned it’s not recommended for the device.
