I constructed my setup some time back, a custom water-cooled AM4 platform. It functioned flawlessly until I replaced the CPU waterblock and switched to a vertical GPU mount. Then issues arose—after reaching 'cold' it would generate POST errors and freeze, repeatedly restarting without resolving the problem. Once operational, shutting down and rebooting worked fine. The next day after hours of inactivity, I repeat the same steps only to encounter the same difficulties. After re-seating the CPU and waterblock, it didn’t improve. I’ve also checked RAM and tried an unplugged PCIe extension, but the behavior remains unchanged. Any suggestions? This setup seems unusual.

Yes, I checked if resetting the CMOS was an option.

Check the PCIe connector on the GPU and the motherboard for any issues.

I didn’t notice any problems with the slots or connectors. After taking the system out of the case, rebuilding it on a table, leaving it overnight, and testing this morning, I’m still unable to reproduce the issue. I’ll reassemble it into the case and check again; it might just be something unexpected.

Restarting once without using the GPU can refresh the UEFI settings in BIOS and make it function properly.
