I considered using Manjaro but noticed experts suggest starting with an Ubuntu-based system first. Also, I wanted to use the Unity Game Engine, which is simpler on Ubuntu-based platforms.

Manjaro remains a popular choice among Linux users, yet Ubuntu seems even more accessible. Mint stands out as one of the most straightforward options, with an interface that offers a soothing experience. Its design blends comfort and simplicity, making daily tasks feel effortless. Fedora also impresses with its ease of use and strong compatibility with various software. I believe Unity can be installed across most platforms using Flatpak, as shown here: https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.unity.UnityHub. Fedora leads in adopting Wayland, delivering a top-tier experience. While getting Nvidia drivers on Fedora can be tricky, it remains a solid choice.

Among Unix systems, I highlight Nobara Project, Void Linux, EndeavourOS, KDE neon, NetBSD, Fedora, Devuan, FreeBSD, and Clear Linux. Each excels in different ways, though none are perfectly uniform. Godot offers a quicker learning curve and greater flexibility than Unity, potentially letting you build simple games faster. Unity provides extensive features but may be overkill for basic 2D or mobile projects.

Current trends show Godot gaining momentum rapidly. A beta 4.0 release has introduced many new render capabilities: https://sarangkoding.com/why-we-use-godot-engine/. Unlike traditional engines that require lengthy compilation after script creation, Godot saves scripts instantly and highlights errors immediately. This accelerates development. The community plays a vital role in shaping Godot’s future, ensuring it evolves together with user needs.

It doesn't really matter too much, but there shouldn't be a major variation in how the fonts appear. For testing, I'd switch monitors to check for any differences, which could point to issues with brightness or color settings on your Linux system.

Godot is gaining popularity, and I'm studying it as a hobby. I plan to transition to using it more soon.

You're not sure about your desktop setup; KDE Plasma is a solid choice. I adjust color with its night mode controls and tweak contrast using Nvidia-Settings. It really helps reduce eye strain. I also stick to dark mode for everything, since bright white screens are exhausting. Remember, the desktop environment and theme you pick are what truly matter, regardless of the operating system. Explore the documentation for your current setup to find display settings. KDE Plasma stands out for its extensive customization options, though it can feel overwhelming at times.
