Story about a spooky game
My PC model is an Acer Predator Helios 300 (2019) with an i5 9300h, 2.40GHz, 1660ti, 6GB GDDR6, 32GB RAM dual channel at 2666MHz. This configuration seems to cause issues with Need For Speed Most Wanted 2005. I've tried various settings—compatibility mode, admin access, different resolutions, restarts, reinstalls from multiple sources, even a friend's copy on Google Drive—but nothing works. After switching to a similar build on a pen drive and an older Windows 10 system, it functioned perfectly. I also tried Need For Speed Carbon 2006, which worked flawlessly. I'm pretty sure the game is problematic. Please help me out in the comments below.
Many fixes meant to speed up the game failed. For fun, you could try reinstalling DirectX 9 here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download...px?id=8109
I set up a Windows 7 VM and installed Direct X 9 on it successfully. I’m planning to test it on Windows 10 too—no issues with the other builds. Just a silly question, but I’m not sure I’m doing this right.
Uncertain about your question. If you're asking whether it impacts games using DX10, 11, or 12, the answer is no.
