Other players are also following FFXIV updates. For those missing the latest, the upcoming expansion is expected in about six weeks, and a new benchmark tool has just been released. It aims to evaluate the system's performance beyond just the GPU. I plan to run some tests and share the results once I have the data.

Hey, I was one of the early testers for this game—it was really enjoyable. Sadly, I can't afford a subscription to play it.

It operates identically to the homework assignment. Made minor adjustments, very high performance on 850m with 4700HQ, nearly all settings at full capacity. Note that benchmarks run on DX11 while I test the homework in DX9 without HDR, and I haven't noticed such a significant FPS drop in the SB benchmark. It's unclear if all my configurations were supported, since the score seems to match DX9 behavior. The game serves as a benchmark for optimization, particularly in MMOs.

Been too caught up in FFXIV, not a chance to take on benching. Anyone else hanging out on Phoenix? There are tons of quests, but time is tight.

I tested the 1080p maximum settings when it launched and achieved a score around 8850. Recently, Windows pushed the Creators update automatically, which made me concerned about performance drops. But after re-running the test yesterday, I saw a significant improvement—great news! (The GameMode was off at the time of the update.) I thought it worth sharing since it looks like the update helped my FFXIV performance, and I hope it does for others too. Here’s my result.

Have you tested it several times? The results aren't too different, and I'm curious about the possible changes. Did you also refresh the driver when switching between Windows versions? Let's focus on getting my BLM to 60.

I tested it several times and consistently achieved scores above 9100. I updated the NVIDIA drivers after my last benchmark, but it seems they didn’t significantly affect the results. Still, it’s possible they played a role. Regardless, I’m relieved my performance stayed strong after the Creators update. Good luck! All classes are at 60, and I’m excited for Stormblood!

I managed to achieve around 7500 at the highest resolution with a Celeron and GTX 1050Ti. It seems similar for Stormblood, though I’m hoping the test accurately reflects the RAM used by the 1050Ti. Just a note, I haven’t started FFXIV yet—I’d need to set aside funds for the subscription before buying anything.

The score could be slightly lower because Stormblood requires more technical skill due to the removal of PS3 support. If you manage to obtain the game, consider choosing the base subscription plan—it's more affordable. You’ll pay for just eight characters on an account and only one per server. Despite this, the game allows you to play all classes with a single character, so you won’t miss out on any content.

The Stormblood benchmark score is shown alongside a comparison with the Heavensward result from the same period. The Stormblood score dropped noticeably in the middle of the fifth scene, possibly accounting for part of the roughly 800-point gap between the two. Regarding subscriptions, a standard 180-day plan is available at the same price as the entry option, offering flexibility for moving to a standard plan.
