Stories of courage amid the tempest
Stories of courage amid the tempest
It seems you're questioning why people don't play mobile games if they dislike them. Also, why is the absence of region locks problematic? If you relocate, would that be an issue?
Dota allows playing in any region regardless of ping, as long as your connection meets the required speed. Choose the area that suits you best. It’s okay if you don’t like certain aspects—just avoid sharing false information.
Matchmaking does suck, but I'm more disappointed with the game itself. It's just so...basic. You have very little room to spec your hero, and if you realize later on that you should've gone tankier, oh well, you're screwed. I had fun with it for a while, but I haven't touched it in months.
In Warcraft 3 there was region lock, which grouped everyone in the same area. This usually reduced lag and made teamwork smoother. For Dota 2, communication was tough because of language differences. Want to continue?
Reminder for yourself: I mentioned "lack of region lock" in my post. That means Dota 2 doesn't enforce regional restrictions. The word "lack" just indicates the absence of that feature. If you don't like it, perhaps you should try understanding how it works.
I'm usually not up this time, but region locks are rarely nice. I like to play when possible, rather than stay quiet. Working with friends really eases the language challenge.
The issue seems to be with the waiting times during matches. I understand you're referring to problems in matchmaking for Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3.
