Right now I need to install the wallpapers I like on every device, but I’m curious—can we store the drives in a central NAS? That way Windows could pull files from there, which would help keep disk space free.

Yes, it will still save the file locally in the cache, just storing the current image. The purpose is to reduce the size by 1-2 MB.
