Hey there, I'm facing a RAM issue where I have two 8GB sticks, but only 8GB is available for use. The hardware is reserving 8GB, which is really frustrating for my work. I've tried checking the internet and everything else, but the problem still persists. Both RAM sticks seem to be working correctly when tested individually.

I've explored various methods to assist you. What would you like me to do next?

In Msconfig>Boot>advance>disable maximum 2, set Registry>memory value 0 to 1, then Unplugged and verify each RAM stick. Thank you for your reply.

And when you start up with just one stick, do you end up using all 8/8GB? I’m considering this approach: take out one RAM module and erase the CMOS, then boot with the remaining stick. Swap it back in and reset again. If it fails, try swapping to another slot, change the CMOS setting, and repeat the process. Essentially, I’m attempting to trick the memory controller by altering the RAM layout and resetting its configuration.

they could be in the incorrect positions, double-check that you're selecting slots A2 and B2. Certain boards are strict and will follow this rule if they're placed elsewhere.

Full 8GB drive available at just 70 MB, with hardware reserved on both sides. Clearing CMOS safely?

I'm using a Ryzen 5 2600 with an ASUS Strix 350 F gaming card. Clearing the CMOS might prevent me from using the CPU since it requires the latest BIOS.

This action doesn't alter your BIOS version.

B350-F is compatible with 2gen CPUs, so you likely won’t need a BIOS update. It should function just fine. Simply short the jumper and reset the CMOS.
