Hello,
According to the title, how can I prevent Windows form from opening msn.com when the internet connection is unavailable or restored? My connection is unstable, and the window keeps appearing each time I switch connections while working. This is quite bothersome.
OS: Win11 pro fully updated
Browser: Firefox
Best regards

My issue isn't about Firefox launching msn.com, it's about how the behavior functions. I already have Firefox open on a blank page.
I don't want the system to react to losing or connecting the internet by opening any webpage.

Check Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer. One or both tools might record an error code, warning, or info event right before or during the internet loss. Additionally, the router's logs (if present and active) could capture issues. The user with complete admin privileges will need assistance from that individual.

I reviewed both Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer, nothing out of the ordinary was found. You can recreate the problem by removing the Ethernet cable and reconnecting it after some time. After restarting, your default browser should open automatically, including (msn.com), even if it wasn’t open before. With an unstable internet connection like mine, this becomes particularly frustrating as you lose concentration and end up viewing the webpage. It’s my home workstation, and I have full admin access on both Windows and the modem/router.

Pulling out the Ethernet cable is simply a loss of network connectivity: to your home network and, of course, access to the Internet.
Indeed curious about the described behavior....
Not aware of any reasons per se as to why Windows would default back to msn.com with respect to some loss of network connectivity.
What Windows 11 Version is installed? Source?
One thought being that there may be some corrupted or buggy files involved.
Run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" to find and fix any corrupted or buggy files.

I executed sfc /scannow and no issues were detected. For (dism) I’m unable to proceed at the moment because I have a tight deadline and my internet connection is slow.
I’m using Windows 11 Pro with the latest edition, a genuine hardware-locked license. It seems Windows might be verifying the license each time the internet is unavailable or connected. The only issue appears to be opening the browser.
My Kaspersky office security suite scanned my system and found nothing suspicious.
I reviewed the startup programs and confirmed there are no problems there.
