install ahci/raid drivers from downloads. extract them and place them on the installation USB. during setup, choose disk options, pick "load driver," and then pick the files you saved. after that, your disk should appear. legacy/uefi configurations are usually found in startup settings.

When you press F12 to choose a boot image, it asks whether you want the UEFI version or the older legacy format. The other option is available as well.

It doesn't indicate anything about legacy or UEFI, only displays the Windows boot menu. When I press it, the screen turns dark for a few seconds before returning to BIOS.

During installation, all partitions are removed to ensure a clean slate. This allows you to choose an unpartitioned space for your new setup.
