I've been attempting to set up Windows on an SSD, but my PC isn't recognizing it after restarting the installer. I tried it on another machine, but it didn't work. It's using a different HDD, too. I changed the boot order and it appears in the Windows Boot Manager, yet it returns to BIOS. Even when I restart the setup and select repair, it shows up as “continue to Windows 10,” but clicking it still doesn’t fix the issue. I've spent days trying fixes and nothing online seems to help.

I don’t understand where the UEFI and legacy switch is, even though the BIOS is using the default settings.

I don't have a motherboard, but I can help you find information about it if you tell me your system requirements or what you're building.

Check for additional drives with faulty boot loaders affecting performance. Have you attempted to recreate or switch to another installation USB?

It's just one external hard drive. I'll attempt to use another USB port.

For a fresh Windows setup, avoid turning on CSM.
