Stop or terminate my computer due to USB WiFi adapter (Windows 10)
I noticed that my USB Wi-Fi adapter (TP-link wn722n) is causing problems because the LED keeps blinking during shutdown. I tried turning it off before shutting down or restarting by changing the adapter settings in "Change adapter options." The icon would switch to disabled, but the Wi-Fi adapter stayed active with the LED still on, and the Wi-Fi icon showed an error (yellow exclamation mark). I also couldn't eject the device—its icon remained visible in the task bar, but there was no "eject" option. As a result, my PC wouldn’t shut down properly.
I’ve used the same adapter on another Windows 7 PC and it functioned fine. Reinstalling the driver didn’t help. Unplugging the adapter didn’t resolve the issue either. EDIT: this doesn’t occur every time.
If the same issue occurs, it could be related to the Task Manager. When WiFi is turned off while the Task Manager is active, the adapter might malfunction and prevent the Task Manager from closing properly. I haven’t experienced problems until I stopped using the Task Manager after turning off WiFi.
Is there anyone who can help fix this problem? I’m experiencing the same shutdown issue, but leaving it causes a BSOD.
