So I haven't checked, but apparently this is a trending tag on Twitter. AND OMG GUYS IT'S ANITA WHOCARES SARKEESIAN So A.S is claiming that the person who threatened her said they were affiliated with Gamer Gate. OH AND IT GET'S EVEN BETTER! ait a minute. So you're saying if I support something that YOU started that is more or less untrue, I'm a womanizer/harasser. Well, I guess I'm going to Juvie. Cya guys later! Again I will refer to this glorious video: I don't think death threats are appropriate, not at all. But both sides are getting ridiculous. About halfway down the page is a torrent of tweets, some saying GG is cult that threatens death on it's critics, some just saying they don't want to be threatened. All over something that I'm going to say has a 50% chance of being a lie. Even if it is true that they claimed association with Gamer Gate, so what? They're a radical. I have a perfect example, but I better word it carefully. Sometimes Muslims are all thought to be terrorists. IDK about where you guys live, but sometimes in younger peoples minds that is a problem with people I meet where I live, from time to time . However, as we all know, this is not true. Most Muslims are fine, I actually used to be friends with some. The ones that associate themselves with terrorism are "radicals", much like the person who threatened death on A.S. Again, if it's true . Now, obviously I'm a little "worked up" over this. Why you may ask? BECAUSE I'M TIRED OF GAMERS BEING MISREPRESENTED IN THE MEDIA, THAT'S WHY. Now as we all know, the media is always kinda retarded and tends to warp things. Which means that when this comes up in the news, which I think it will, they will twist it out of proportion yet again to fight against gamers/videogames. Much like the Violent Videogames make you Violent thing. Anyways, this whole thing has blown up. I'm afraid A.S couldn't stop it even if she wanted to. Video games are enjoyed by everyone, not just one gender. This behavior is discriminatory and needs to end. What is this "GamerGate" all about?

This process has been really annoying to go through. Threatening messages are never acceptable, yet it appears Anita has previously misled about this kind of conduct (perhaps from a thunderfoot video). I’d definitely call the argument linking “supporting gamergate” to misogyny due to alleged minority actions completely weak. The gamergate movement aims for fair gaming journalism free from bias.
Some folks seem foolish. I'm not joking, and definitely a threat isn't trivial. There are bigger issues happening right now, matters that matter more than the way women are shown in games. If they wish to raise their voice, they should focus on topics that truly deserve attention.
Gamers can exhibit sexism. Issues will persist because communities often have gaps.
