Stock temperatures for I7 4770k are available.
Hello,
With a stock 3.9ghz turbo boost, I experience peak temperatures around 72°C on air cooling while playing modern games (BF5). Mostly it stays at an average of 69°C. Some forum users mention it gets extremely hot and their 4770k CPU reaches 60°C, though they don’t specify if they use water cooling. Others say Haswell CPUs run very hot but that normal air cooling temperatures are fine. Personally, I have a large 1kg radiator with a 120mm fan. What’s the truth?
I attempted to overclock to 100mhz at 4ghz, achieving stable performance at 1.180v core, but temperatures peak at 73–74°C during heavy gaming loads. At full load while loading a new map, I notice peaks lasting about a second at 80°C. I’m not sure if going beyond that is safe given these temps.
Is this typical?
Thank you
