SteamOS Grub encountered issues during installation.
I recently purchased an inexpensive PC intended for use as a SteamBox in my living room. The main issue is that after attempting to boot from the USB drive, I encounter the Grub 2.0 error: "Minimal bash-like editing is supported." This usually happens because hidden files aren't copied correctly to the flash drive. Despite checking everything carefully, the motherboard appears to be an Asrock H97M-ITX/AC model, which suggests the problem isn’t related to UEFI settings. I’m struggling to follow the official Valve SteamOS installation guide, as my searches on the internet are yielding confusing results—either requiring terminal commands I don’t understand or simply not addressing the hidden folder issue. I tried formatting the drive using Windows, but only FAT32 was supported, so I resorted to a third-party tool like Rufus to create a proper format.
