Yes, you can install Origin on a Linux distribution. However, most Origin games don’t have official Linux versions.

You can use wine for installation, but I’m not sure if any Origin games are compatible with Linux. Edit: I was wrong—there are some that work, though you’ll need to check specific titles.

The reason for using SteamOS instead of Windows now is mainly about gaming performance and features. It offers a more optimized experience for games, better graphics support, and access to Steam's vast library of titles.

Really, set up Windows. Linux isn't a good option for gaming.

The main titles supported on SteamOS include popular games like Minecraft, Fortnite, and many others from the Steam library. You can check the official SteamOS page for the latest available games.

Our lord states he won’t stop Origin from being available on Steam OS. It seems EA doesn’t offer any titles for Linux.

Valve doesn't plan steamOS as a standard desktop operating system, though it can be used in that way. Other Linux distributions offer more features for desktop environments and still keep compatibility with SteamOS. From a development standpoint, EA hasn't officially backed Linux yet, and SteamOS remains in beta with no imminent release. Steam computers are still far from being ready for launch. You'll find a wide selection of indie titles and games like FTL, plus AAA offerings such as Witcher 2, Project Cars, Star Citizen, Civilization 5, Unreal Tournament, and Metro series. That's what I remember.
