While launching Steam it displays a bunch of generic messages and then shows "logging in to account: warot22." After that it prompts for account updates but does nothing further. No DLL errors or missing EXE warnings appear. I've reinstalled twice, even skipping uninstall, but the issue persists. Please help! For the sake of GabeN, please fix this and restore my joy in gaming!

System details: Athlon 760k MSI A78M-E35, 1x4GB RAM, 1TB storage, 7200RPM WD HDD R9 270X, Sapphire Dual-X, Windows 8.1.

Checked for an active Steam process and terminated it before attempting to restart Steam again.
