When you press the play button on Steam, it shows a small menu. You tap "Start" and then it crashes. This happens on Windows 8.1 Pro, and it's not Fallout 4. Can anyone assist? Maybach123

Fallout 3 requires specific compatibility options, I don’t know which ones work on Windows 8 but in Windows 7 you must use XP SP2. I think that’s the situation.

Got it! Just to clarify, are you asking about choosing between the Goty or Standard edition?

Your current approach might not resolve the problem, but it's worth trying. This link could help: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/19122/?

The Gothic edition lacks GFWL, which is why I inquired.
