As an interdependent game developer, I’d probably tackle this head-on. Love CryEngine 3!

Definitely, I think this is awesome, it used to be that only triple A devs could make incredibly graphic games but they would usually be crappy games as seen in todays industry, I can just imagine all the future indie games finally getting what they deserve.

Cryengine stands out as a top-tier, highly efficient engine. Its dominance isn’t due to performance but rather the steep cost associated with it. With the current support structure, Crytek is managing to stay afloat, though there’s hope it might eventually go bankrupt and sell it to indie developers.

I was aware of this before, it's great that Crytek offers this at a lower cost for developers. Of course, Unreal is also very affordable, but I believe it comes with higher costs elsewhere.

I think Unreal will proceed, and perhaps even frostbite, but they likely won’t because 1. EA, 2. It doesn’t currently have an SDK, so it’s unlikely to arrive soon.

It's the drawback? You're still required to allocate 5% of every sale.
