You can simply adjust the settings within the game options, go to updates, enable background downloads, and it will start automatically when you play. You can also change this setting for all games if needed, though I’m not sure how to do that.
It's too soon for anything like this. Steam currently faces major challenges that could harm its future. Still, adding this feature is a welcome improvement and something it should have included from the beginning.
I'll have to turn off another function because of my slow internet connection, though it might help some users.
You could display the total amount being downloaded on the screen. Showing multiple download sizes helps users see progress instantly. This feature allows you to choose several games at once without needing to wait for the pop-up to finish, close, and start the next one.
