Absolutely, that's a big concern. With Microsoft's current direction, the situation is likely to deteriorate further (they seem indifferent about cheaters using Xbox with X-ing devices and auto-bot aim).

Cheating seems inevitable everywhere, regardless of anti-cheat presence. Games would likely require game masters to step in, but that’s the situation. Microsoft plans to separate their AV from the kernel and make adjustments, which could change how we view kernel-level security. This will be fascinating to observe, especially with SteamOS.
