I recently installed my SSD and placed the games there, hoping everything would function properly. However, when I tried to boot the game, it asked me to reinstall it again. Even though I had already added the Steam apps folder to the SSD and uploaded the games myself, it still reported needing a full reinstall from Steam. Do I really need to start over with the games?

I did that with my ssd a few months ago.
Initially, I allowed Steam to create a folder on my ssd. I was lazy and just let it install a very small game. Later, I copied the desired game from the hdd to the Steam folder (steamapps). After that, I removed the game in Steam and reinstalled it on the ssd. Since the data is already there, Steam quickly checks it and doesn't download anything. And that's it.
Edit: Steam will also create a Steam folder on the new drive, which includes more than just the steamapps folder. Simply copying the steamapps folder won't work.

Thanks for the assistance. It took about 24 hours to resolve the issue. I had to reinstall the games, which used around 185 GB of storage, but I was relieved I didn’t need to reinstall Ark at 208 GB.
