For the Mac version of Steam's overlay, increasing the resolution makes the overlay much smaller, really? What a strange thing about Steam!

It seems the issue is likely fixed. Steam’s display on my 1366x768 monitor looks bigger than on my 4K one, and similar with apps like Mumble and Overwolf. Adding a scaling slider like in Mumble could help. It might not be updated, but you could experiment with Steam skins instead.
