Steam is merely a low-quality service. I believe it has contributed more to weaken ownership and deepen the dominance of PC gaming than any other platform. It functions as a DRM tool enabling Valve to remove games at will for any reason. The service is filled with unnecessary offerings and exploits developers through unfair revenue sharing. It operates as a monopoly, and I strongly dislike its impact on the once-thriving PC gaming community. The Steam device itself is also disappointing—it’s inferior to the ROG Alley and represents a clear effort by Valve to expand into the Linux market.
