They aren't acting unreasonably. Each has their own channel to maximize earnings, so they plan to distribute it solely via Origin.
Origin's approach was somewhat misguided since it aimed to rival the dominant online game platform. EA simply doesn't release enough titles on Origin to match Steam's offerings. Conceptually, Origin could be a solid idea—a system focused on exclusive releases—but it hasn't succeeded. The only popular games sold there are NFS, Battlefield, and BF4. Steam, on the other hand, boasts Witcher 3, CSGO, Rocket League, GTA V, and more. Essentially, EA is capturing a portion of Steam's revenue.
