I’m considering purchasing new games. Many titles come with high prices, and I’m unsure if I’ll afford even a modest game like $25 or more. I recently bought Far Cry 3 Deluxe for less than $10, which was around $5 a week or two ago. I came across an Offline Mode option here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_arti...-AGCB-2555. Do I still need to install Steam on my laptop to play these games offline?
Steam serves as the DRM, installation, and launch system for games purchased or activated there. The official description notes that you must start each game online before attempting offline play. The instructions also repeat this guidance throughout the help section.
AFAIK, that glitch to get free games doesn't work anymore. There's another way to do it, but you have to inject this thingy into the process as Steam is logging into your account. I'm pretty sure they'll remove those games, though.
