I just completed downloading Shadow of War, a massive file of almost 100 gigabytes. My younger sibling jokingly interrupted the download at one second, which created several problems. Although the game does launch—I’m pretty sure he paused it right when it was done—I can play and everything functions correctly. However, two further complications arose: Steam thinks the game isn't complete and is attempting to re-download it, consequently allocating an additional 100 gigabytes to my hard drive. I need advice on resolving this storage problem and convincing Steam that the installation is ongoing without losing my already downloaded game. Furthermore, I’m positive I had approximately 278 gigabytes of free space before this second download began. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Selecting “verify” within the game's context menu on Steam provides an option for a diagnostic scan of your installation. This process enables Steam to confirm that the game is fully installed. Although it can take a considerable amount of time, particularly with larger games like 100GB titles, it’s generally quicker than re-downloading the game from scratch.

Selecting "verify" within the game's right-click menu on Steam initiates a scan of your installation, enabling the platform to confirm its integrity. Although this process can be lengthy for large files like 100GB, it is generally quicker than re-downloading the entire game.
