Steam has been experiencing downtime recently, it's been down for about 30 minutes. Hopefully that's not the pattern going forward.

I experienced a few connection hiccups just moments ago, but everything is back to normal. The chart displaying concurrent Steam users displays minor fluctuations over the last few hours, indicating possible temporary network issues.

It triggered an error about the Steam network, but after resetting the modem it functioned properly (Israel).

I only switch online and offline repeatedly. Indicators appear immediately.
