I don’t think I’d need to do this much, but I’m wondering if it’s even possible to get a hackintosh work on Steam Deck. It would be awesome to see macOS run on a portable device.
It's uncertain. Running Hackintosh with Ryzen can work, but it requires significant community support. The activity has slowed down after OS X shifted to ARM.
Sure thing! It seems like you think Apple might come out with a gaming tablet for MacOS at a much lower price, but it won't happen soon. While GarageBand and development tools sound interesting, spending that much would make buying a MacBook Air more practical.
Not really, it was quite common back then (though you could find AIO installers that handled it automatically), but nowadays it's just as challenging for AMD as it was for Intel. The main problem is driver compatibility; Hackintosh has always depended on Apple's closed system, so if Apple hasn't officially supported a device, it usually doesn't work. It seems unlikely Apple has ever backed onboard GPUs for AMD CPUs.
Clover represents outdated technology that was phased out due to complications it introduced; now OpenCore is preferred for Intel and AMD systems because it avoids kernel modifications, allowing seamless in-place updates with smaller patches. It doesn’t need SIP disabled, works with Apple SecureBoot and bootcamp, and supports macOS versions ranging from Tiger to Current—meaning theoretically you could run 10.4 on a Zen 3 if you're feeling adventurous.
