I own a 250GB SSD as the primary storage and it houses my operating system, x86 files, some applications, and it's nearly full. That’s quite surprising given I just completed assembling this PC about two weeks ago... My concern is whether I can decide which Steam games go on the SSD (my most played titles) and which ones stay on my larger 1TB hard drive. For instance, I’m okay with having CS:GO and CoD:BO3 on the SSD but not so much as Half-Life (even though it’s small) or GTA 4 on the secondary drive. The main question is how can I manage game installation locations from Steam? Yes, I also have a "SteamLibrary" on my secondary drive.
Search for it online... or adjust settings and library, as there’s an option to include another installation location, such as a different drive or network.
Yeah, it's working now. It lets me pick which drive to use. Probably because I had to delete the Steam folder first. Another thing I want to know—is it possible to install a game on both drives at the same time?
It seems uncertain; I haven't attempted it before. Likely the answer is yes. What makes sense?
Play a game that you’re unlikely to enjoy once you finish, avoiding the trouble of removing saved files and restarting everything.
In this scenario, relocate the game files to another location and remove local copies (which removes the installation). When you wish to play again, restore the files and restart the installation—this will detect the files and perform a brief check, update if needed, and you should be set to use it.
