I believed changing the serial number to match a genuine Mac would restore functionality.

I don’t try to manipulate the MacOS setup. I just need it for smooth transitions and uniform performance. Even if a Linux VM doesn’t fix the Nvidia driver issues, using the built-in graphics on the i7 and the 1650 for Windows would work well for me. Referring to the 1650 in the title was just to highlight the exact hardware. If I’m relying solely on integrated graphics, could I save power by skipping the 1650? Would it still draw power quietly? And if so, is there a way to turn off the separate graphics mode while using MacOS?

The 1650 is expected to draw minimal power, possibly only when running in the background. If you manage to boot it into Mojave or Catalina, it should operate without strain and use almost no energy.

Did you confirm the functionality?
