Hey there, friends. I've been having some trouble with my new PC setup. As a total beginner, I wasn't sure what was going wrong until I looked into it. After some research and installing certain tools, I figured out the problem. When I opened Call of Duty, several warnings popped up: Power Limit Exceed, Package/ Ring Power Limit Exceeded, RAPL/PBM issues, inefficient operation, and RL3 flags. The temperature sensors showed normal readings. Using Intel's utility, I only saw power throttling warnings. Even without internet access, the throttling appears sometimes, especially after it's been triggered. I just enabled XMP when the system started up, but that didn't fix anything. It seems the issue might have appeared later, even though the machine is only a month old. Since I'm still learning, I'll do my best to help with any questions I can. Thanks, Intel! I can review the two 8-pin power cables. They seem fine, though they’re probably not essential. It might boost the CPU’s power draw if needed. If you’re building this yourself, it’s impressive how well it looks.

This stock 10900k always activates power limit throttling. If your cooling system is capable, you may disable the power limits in the BIOS.

I’ve inspected the 2 8-pin connectors and they appear properly seated. Checking the HWinfo64, I’m seeing 12V and 5V signals. The device isn’t mine, but it looks good. I haven’t shared any photos of my build yet, just a random one for now. @Selle, why would it function so well for a month without any problems? I can review the power limits to see where they sit.

Additional details about your personalized loop could also help, together with the general configuration. Images might clearly identify the issue and offer ideas for solutions.

I’ll attempt to clarify the situation as best as I can. At first, I observed unusually low FPS—often single digits—compared to my previous 100-150 FPS. The CPU temperature remained steady around 40°C, while fans and pumps didn’t increase. Loop temperatures stayed near 30°C. Normally, I’d expect the CPU temp to rise to about 70-80°C and GPU to around 50°C before issues appear. Since I lacked deep technical knowledge, I looked into possible causes and found Windows might be involved. I tried a restore but had no luck. After several tries, the game ran smoothly again. I continued experiencing low FPS for days afterward. Recently, I researched potential factors and gathered hardware diagnostics like HWINFO, CPU-Z, GPU-Z, and Intel tools. I also disabled XMP settings and adjusted fan speeds to around 100% at about 60°C. @Beerzerker mentioned a specific setup with multiple cooling components, including a pump with an EK reflection plate. I consulted MSI commands for RGB control and downloaded the tool after installation. I’m aware that Intel utilities let me tweak short/long boost settings, but I suspect BIOS adjustments might be necessary. The current temperature reading is 800 MHz during throttling, which is concerning.
