Morning everyone, I've been thinking about how effective Windows Defender (Windows 8 and newer) really is. As someone who's used Kaspersky Total Security for a long time, I know it can be pricey—$14 for a year’s subscription is pretty steep. I'm curious about the virus protection you all rely on. Do you use free or paid software? Aaron here wants to find out.

Windows Defender works perfectly alone—just once a week or month. No issues at all.

This setup really stands out as the top choice I've seen. I prefer staying cautious over following popular opinions.

I rely solely on Windows and perform comprehensive scans periodically. I've remained virus-free for years, so extra security isn't necessary.

Windows Defender would likely have done fine without any additional installation.
