Stay chilled to... stay cool
Stay chilled to... stay cool
Hello again, I posted about my red DRAM light on my Aorus B650 Elite Ax motherboard turning on. I managed to fix it—my VGA light works, and the GPU still shows up in BIOS and connects properly when I use a monitor. Right now I’m worried the cooler isn’t cooling effectively. I’ve checked all the connections and made sure everything is plugged in correctly. I’m using an NZXT Kraken RGB 240 2024 and the pump light comes on, but it doesn’t vibrate or make any sound, which makes me think it’s not working. The fans on the radiator and the pre-installed Fractal Focus 2 RGB fans are also lighting up but not spinning. I’ve confirmed my SATA cables are plugged in correctly, but I’m hoping this setup will finally function as expected. Thanks for all your help, I just want to get this working!
/j I mean its not great but its not terrible either (terrible as in having manufacturing defects or flaws like those msi coreliquid aios) so unless you got a defective one you should be fine and the chips cant really output their heat anyways with that garbage ihs Theyre all connected to the mobo fan headers right? Thats a little concerning that theyre all not even spinning but if theyre not connected to the board and to a fan hub instead make sure you actually plugged the fan hub into power with the molex or sata power that it requires Not too familiar with modern board bioses but afaik most of them have some sort of fancontrol in the bios so try checking that and send some screenies see if the bios even detects your fans
All headers are correctly connected. It looks like you received a faulty board. Everything seems off—especially with the software issues and slow performance. What else do you need to know about the specifications?
can't delve too deep into the setup right now because it's late and I need to wind down before work tomorrow, but I’ll share more details later. I think it’s a fan hub, though I’m still figuring it out. I’m not entirely confident yet, especially since I’m new to this. I plan to snap a photo tomorrow. It comes with two fans that are already connected together and has a SATA port I plugged into the PSU cable. I checked my BIOS and it doesn’t recognize any fans at all—not even the one in the slot I mentioned before. I tried running it at full speed just to test, but it didn’t respond. I made sure to try different configurations while troubleshooting, but nothing worked. Hopefully everything else is fine. The GPU is a 4070 Ti Super, paired with a Be Quiet 850W pure power 12m PSU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM (16x2), a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD, and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. If you have any feedback, I’m 90% sure most of the components were picked by someone who knows more about PC building than me—so that’s probably just my friend doing it. Sorry, I couldn’t share more details yet; I’ll be sure to follow up after work tomorrow.
the board is broken, replace it right away because it should be identifying fans
