You noticed some unusual behavior with your mouse—double clicking or clicking multiple times, followed by creaking sounds after a short period. It sounds like the mouse might be experiencing mechanical issues. There are ways to try fixing it: check if the mouse is properly seated, clean the contacts, or replace the mouse if necessary. If the problem persists, contacting the manufacturer's support for further assistance would be helpful.

Soldering a new microswitch is an option; swapping the mouse is another choice. Logitech?

It doesn't just gradually build up. It seems more like dust or debris, which gets cleared by a gentle breeze. You might attempt to remove it using IPA or compressed air. However, if it's an old mouse problem, it could be a genuine mechanical issue—then replacing the mouse is probably the simplest solution.

It's actually working better lately, especially when I push harder. I don't believe it's due to the microswitch.

It might just be dust, but it also affected another mouse. The Glorious model worked, though using air didn’t stop it from coming back.
