Hi there, friends! My friend is facing some issues with her laptop and reached out for advice. I’m completely unsure how to help. She mentions a startup option called "System Recovery Options" but can’t select any settings—she’s using Vista, not Windows 7. When prompted, she’s asked to insert installation media and click OK, which opens the file explorer at a folder full of strange names like "ar-SA," "Boot," "caboot," etc. It looks like her PC is having some OS problems. Any suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks for reading! 💙

It seems the system isn't recognizing the operating system properly. Even without visible selection options, pressing next usually leads to advanced settings and a CMD prompt. You can't simply bypass it; instead, you'll land in recovery mode. If a restart is done and you choose normal Windows boot, what will happen next?

Thank you for the update. She mentions it only starts up in recovery mode. She can access advanced settings, but nothing functions (system detection fails).
