It doesn't seem unusual. It might have some bad sectors. Hiren boot has identified 32 already, after 12 hours of scanning, and it appears those have been resolved. I’ll let it complete the process. If the issue is just logical damage, I’m confident I can recover it.

Successful repair completed. The HDD regenerator performed excellently, restoring 32 bad sectors. After installing an SSD, Windows booted without issues and prompted for a chkdisk scan—something I hadn't managed before. Once the scan finished, I accessed Windows and confirmed all data was intact. Ultimately, I advised my dad to store his important files in the cloud, since a repaired HDD might still encounter problems, based on what I'd experienced.
