I'm relying on numbers for my Windows login and input them using the keypad. This is why I enabled NUMLock during boot in the BIOS—though I assumed it was active. Recently, the system doesn't seem to activate NUMLock after startup. At first, it felt random; sometimes it worked, other times it didn’t. Since the weekend, failing to unlock appears more common. I verified the BIOS settings and saw they were still set to "on." Then I checked the registry and confirmed the correct value is "2," which should stop it from overriding the BIOS on startup. Some users recommended turning off Windows Fast Startup, which I did after assembling the PC last month. This leaves me with a minor concern rather than a critical issue: it might indicate something more serious coming up. My hardware includes an MSI Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 and a HyperX Alloy Elite keyboard (non-RGB). The keyboard has limited features, no drivers needed, and I can't update its firmware—no available updates on their support site. It's an older model, essentially "new old stock" since I purchased it in 2018, sitting in its box until this build. Besides: other odd boot issues could point to Motherboard (MoBo) problems. Sometimes one or two USB devices won't turn on after Windows boots. Occasionally, even two connected via the same hub (like my monitor's 4-way 3.0 hub and the mouse through the hub). This is strange because I'd expect both to work or fail together. Still not alarming, though—I just want to rule out these possibilities.
