Hello everyone, I’m seeking some guidance. I’ve been improving my PCs for years as a hobbyist, but now I’m finally putting together a build. I’m using recycled components and have had good results so far. My current setup is an i7-4770 on an Aspire TC-603 Mobo. I plan to upgrade the CPU to an i7-4790k, knowing the chipset and socket support it. When setting the new processor, I noticed I need a BIOS update, but the only BIOS available on the Acer website matches what I have. Does this imply I’ll need a new Mobo, or is there a way to upgrade the BIOS without replacing the whole unit? I’d really appreciate any advice you can offer.

Because it's a ready-made unit, CPU improvements might not be possible. Features available during purchase should remain functional, though some options may be restricted by Acer.

It's only a minor upgrade from the 4770, so hold on to your cash.

However, the 4790K offers a significant upgrade, especially since I'm managing a limited budget.

I reached out to Acer, and they confirmed your point. Upgrading the CPU and motherboard will be necessary.
