I just got the components for my PC and began assembling at 6:00 PM. I've put together the motherboard parts—SSD, RAM, CPU fan, CPU cooler—and am getting ready to fit everything into the case. The main issue is I don’t know which power cables are required for my PSU, and I accidentally installed an intake fan that wasn’t needed. Additionally, my screwdriver isn’t suited for unscrewing those screws. Could it be that the screws are damaged or stuck? Someone could help me out.
The advantage of case fans is that you’re inserting plastic, and often they’re not connected at all—there are actually many sizes from Philips. I’m thinking about getting one that’s too small. Another useful point is that fan screws are inexpensive. If you can’t remove the fan, it’s not a big deal. You probably spent a lot on a fan you didn’t need. I’ve made more costly computer errors than that. As long as the case still fits everything inside it doesn’t matter much from a functionality standpoint. Air will keep flowing. You can leave it on and unplugged without too many concerns. Personally, I really like the aftermarket silicone case fans. The ones I found look a bit like elongated chess pieces. They can really reduce noise, but they’re also simple to install and take off compared to screws. Plus, because they sit a bit higher, you can just use a utility knife to cut them if needed.
