I recently assembled a PC for the first time about three weeks ago. When using a microphone in games and Discord, it only produces a deafening scratching static sound. I’ve confirmed my front panel audio header is connected properly and it’s not my microphone—after testing multiple units. Here are my specifications: Nvidia 3070 Ti, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 16GB Corsair DDR4 RAM, 2TB Samsung EVO 970, ROG Strix B550 Gaming, 750W Corsair RM750, Windows 10 Home (NTENZ H510 Elite). If you have any suggestions, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello there! Have you considered connecting it directly through the rear instead of the front panel? This could eliminate many possibilities.

The mic functions when connected to the mic port on your motherboard.
