Starting World of Warcraft once more, need some assistance!
My brother and I aimed to reach 95, so he gave me a friend referral. When you played with that person, your progress jumped incredibly fast to 90, after which the boost stopped.
I'm not familiar with that scenario. I struggled against a tough warrior in vanilla. Would you like to know my best threat setup (since threats were the main focus)? I went for Sunder Armor. I also resorted to Revenge because I was bored, but honestly... vanilla raids were easy. The challenge was keeping 40 players from fighting over loot and getting through the resistance gear. I once inserted a screwdriver between my keyboard keys and it disabled the boss while I was offline. The fight didn't require much movement; that screwdriver held threat very well. Shamans used Chain Heal during a set piece and dropped a totem. They couldn't do DPS. Windfury or the threat totem were in play. Mages relied on Frostbite and Arcane Power when needed, especially during blizzards on AoE pulls. Fire Mages weren't included since mobs were fire-resistant for a while. Outside their one-button rotation based on fights, they also triggered a mod button on certain encounters. Basically, they just followed the auto-targeting setup. Rogues had limited options—really only got a few choices. For them, it was fine. We mostly focused on rogues and mages. They were surprisingly stronger than other DPS classes in damage or threat output. Hunters were similar to mages but with one extra button. Druids healed or weren't allowed. Pals healed or weren't included. Edit. I missed Warlocks. They didn't perform well compared to mages for a long time, though they were needed to CC in some fights. Things changed in Burning Crusade. Warlocks became strong at raids. From Wotlk onward, both were consistently top performers. DPS characters were enjoyable, but Fury was a pain for a while. A quick two-hander with a quartz swing timer was the best option. Problem? I often had to tank since there were few reliable tanks. I could dodge a lot and it was fun to clear aggro. I managed to make our night of off-tanks really tough. Many thought mages and rogues were overpowered in vanilla PvP. They were decent, but they struggled against warriors with Windfury. The sweeping strike execution was the most entertaining moment I've experienced. It's like randomly destroying someone you weren't even aiming at. That captures the essence of WoW vanilla raiding and PvP. Now I miss playing my warrior back then. The most powerful class in any game I've ever played...once they got good gear. Everyone assumed they were weak, but they were heavily reliant on equipment. Once you had a solid two-hander, it was satisfying to remove the threat. I made our night of off-tanks quite painful. People believed mages and rogues were strong in vanilla PvP. They were capable, but they couldn't compete with a warrior wielding Windfury. The whole experience was hilarious—blowing up someone you didn't target was the highlight.
You're asking about the difficulty of rotating 1-3 buttons with bosses that had two mechanics, especially those with over 30 abilities. You found Vanilla's boss mechanics way more challenging compared to Paragons of the Klaxxi, which have a lot of unique abilities. It's all about personal preference.
